Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Audits

An occupational safety and health management system is a planned, documented and verifiable method of managing hazards in the workplace. An occupational health and safety audit is used to determine the presence of hazards as well as occupational safety and health issues employees within the workplace are likely to be exposed to during the course of their work. An audit can be utilised at any stage of business development to improve safety and health processes and cohesion.

Information is gathered during an audit via a structured interview and worksite inspection and is used to determine the level of risk and compliance with legislative requirements. This assists to devise strategies to minimise the risk of injury and harm to the health of employees and persons within the workplace, comply with relevant legislation and codes of practice, and promote best practice in safety standards.
