Depression involves a severe and lengthy period of feeling down. ‘The blues’ refers to those tough times in which you might feel tired, unmotivated and generally flat.  Both the blues and depression can be a real challenge, and can substantially affect your enjoyment and quality of life at home and at work. It is therefore important to know that it is possible to improve your mood.
Banishing the Blues: Working through tough times provides you with the information and road map you need to guide you as you learn how to improve your mood. It also provides you with strategies to ward off the blues in the future.

What the program offers

The PeopleSense HealthSteps Banishing the Blues: Working through tough times program:

  • Provides up-to-date, high quality information about depression and the blues
  • Teaches you the tools you need to reverse the downward spiral of the blues and depression
  • Walks you through the steps you can take to increase your energy, motivation, and enjoyment of life
  • Assists you to develop a proactive plan to better manage the blues and depression now and in the future.

The program is for anyone who wants the knowledge and practical strategies to start feeling better about themselves, their world, and their future. 

What's involved?

Easy to read and self-paced, the PeopleSense HealthSteps Banishing the blues: Working through tough times program involves 4 weekly online sessions. Each session will take approximately 1 – 1.5 hours to complete and includes:

A questionnaire

This provides you with personalised information about your mood. It monitors the change in your mood over the course of the program and provides you with a graph so you can track your progress.

Session notes

These provide accurate information about the blues and depression; the causes, consequences and strategies for management.

Worksheets and exercises

You will have an opportunity to practice the skills outlined in the sessions by completing the worksheets and exercises, both during sessions, and as between session tasks.

Email reminders

You will receive an email to remind you to complete your scheduled session.
