Some shudder at the thought of conflict and try to avoid it at all costs; some seem to find themselves in conflict situations and are unsure how they got there, while others are comfortable with conflict but would like to improve their conflict management skills.  Like it or not, conflict is an unavoidable and necessary part of life. PeopleSense HealthSteps Managing Conflict at Work program teaches you the skills needed to effectively manage conflict.  Raised voices, hurt feelings and unsatisfactory outcomes do not have to be part of the process. Indeed, conflict can result in positive change and creative solutions.

What the Program Offers

The PeopleSense HealthSteps Managing Conflict at Work program:

  • Teaches you about the personal, physiological, and emotional processes that can hijack good outcomes in conflict situations;
  • Assists you to manage conflict situations calmly, with confidence and with optimism; and
  • Describes the steps for negotiating “win-win” outcomes.

Managing Conflict at Work is useful for employees at every level, because the skills provided facilitate positive outcomes in both work-related and personal conflict situations.  The workshop is for those who like to feel calm, in control and confident when confronted by ideas or interests that conflict with their own. The skills to create effective outcomes in conflict situations are priceless, both at work, and at home.

What's involved?

Easy to read and self-paced, the PeopleSense HealthSteps Managing Conflict at Work program involves 4 weekly online sessions. Each session will take approximately 1 – 1.5 hours to complete and includes:

A questionnaire

This provides you with personalised information about your conflict management style. It monitors the change in your conflict management style over the course of the program and provides you with a graph so you can track your progress.

Session notes

These provide accurate information about conflict; the various approaches to conflict management; your personal approach to conflict; the reasons conflict situations can turn bad; and a step by step guide to “win-win” outcomes.

Worksheets and exercises

You will have an opportunity to practice the skills outlined in the sessions by completing the worksheets and exercises, both during sessions, and as between session tasks.

Email reminders

You will receive an email to remind you to complete your scheduled session.
